RACINE - Carol Ann Johnson, 59, passed away Friday September
8, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born in Racine on November 25, 1946, daughter of Harold and Sylvia (nee: Hlavka)
Johnson. Carol attended Sacred Heart Grade School, graduated from St. Catherine's High School and went on to graduate from
Dominican College with a degree in elementary education. In her early career, Carol taught at St. Mary's Catholic Grade School
and at St. John Nepomuk Grade School. She had then been employed by St. Luke's Hospital in Admitting and at St. Mary's Medical
Center in the Transcription Department. She was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church and volunteered throughout
the city with the Food Pantry. Carol enjoyed music, her travels around the world and was an avid reader. She will be dearly
missed. Surviving are her father, Harold Johnson; aunts and uncle, Ella Johnson, Lucille Coyle, Eugene and Dorothy Hlavka;
many cousins, other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sylvia Johnson; and her sister, Barbara.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, Monday, September
11, 2006, 10 a.m. with Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Relatives
and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home Sunday 2 until 4 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:15
