Thomas W. Kiley, 68, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan
Hospital following a brief illness.
Thomas William was born in Racine to the late Manton and Jessie (nee: Rosinski) Kiley on
April 3, 1941, and lived in Racine his whole life. In Gautier, Mississippi, he was united in marriage to Lyn Belden on December
27, 1969.
Mr. Kiley was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the Royal
Order of the Moose, Lodge No. 437. Mr. Kiley retired from S.C. Johnson & Son in 1992, and then worked for Cooper Industries
until 1999 and for Omni, Inc. until 2007.
Tom was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 25 years, serving on Troop 161 committee
for nearly 20 years and serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster up to the time of his death. Tom’s primary focus was to
help young scouts achieve the rank of First Class, which he truly loved. Many scouts will remember him as the person who taught
them how to tie their first knots, do basic first aid and get their feet wet. Tom was also active in council and district
positions over the years. He served on the District Jamboree committee and attended the National Jamboree in 1993. He also
served on the District Advancement committee and as a Commissioner.
Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lyn; his son, Phillip W. (Tammi) Kiley; two sisters,
Lillian (Val) Pawlowski and Diane (Michael) Dunk; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Manuel and Janet (Roger) Robichaux; one brother-in-law,
William (Kathie) Belden; his mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Belden; two aunts, Jody Belden and Helen Karwowski; many relatives
and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Manton and Jesse Kiley.
