Michael W. Schroeder 1943
- 2007 Michael W. Schroeder, 64, of Lake Ariel, Pa., formerly of Kenosha, died on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Aurora
Medical Center. Born on Jan. 1, 1943, in Kenosha, he was the son of Joseph Jacob and Dorothy Alice (White) Schroeder. He attended
St. George Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mike attended St. Norbert College in DePere
and was a graduate of Dominican College in Racine. On Oct. 5, 1968, in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Kenosha
Mike married Elizabeth Frances Wirth. His 30 year professional career was spent with Snap On Tools Corporation where he served
as an account manager in the international sales division. Mike was blessed to retire in 2003 at which point he pursued personal
interests. He enjoyed coaching and filming football at Western Wayne High School in Pennsylvania; and, in keeping with his
sales background, found great pleasure in selling hot tubs to a wide range of clientele in the Pocono Mountains. Mike was
a former member of the Kenosha Elks Lodge #750 and the Playboy Club in Lake Geneva. In more recent years, Mike and his wife,
Betty were known as the "unofficial" welcoming committee at the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa. An avid sports fan,
Mike's favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago White Sox. He was fervent about golf, but he thoroughly enjoyed
arguing Packer draft picks and politics with his son, and best friend, Joey. Left to cherish the many memories are Mike's
wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Schroeder, of Lake Ariel, Pa.; his son and confidant, Joseph "Joey" Michael (Claire Lorenz) Schroeder,
of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn; his mother, Dorothy Schroeder, of Kenosha; two sisters, Diana "Peachy" Schroeder and Mary Kay (Steve)
Ludwig, both of Kenosha; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rudolph and Joan Wirth and Thomas and Sharon Wirth; and many loving
nieces and nephews, Katie (Jon) Hasselbrink, Joshua Bower, Stephanie and Megan Ludwig, Patrick Wirth and Penny Libby. Mike
was preceded in death by his father, Joe and his mother and father-in-law, Sophie and Rudolph Wirth. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 2224 - 30th Avenue. Entombment will follow
in All Saints Mausoleum. A visitation for Mike will be held on Friday, March 30, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider memorial remembrances to St. Joseph High School, 2401 - 69th Street,
